Praxa — Privacy Policy

Praxa is a native AI assistant for iPhone and Mac, published by Vector Dispatch LLC (“we”, “us”). Praxa is designed to be private by default: it has no backend server of ours, and we do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal data.

What stays on your device

• API keys (e.g. your NVIDIA or other provider keys) are stored in the device Keychain and never sent to us.
• Conversations, images, documents and settings are stored locally on your device.
• Saved facts. If you ask Praxa to remember something, it is written to a file on your device and included in later prompts to your chosen model. You can clear it at any time.
• The activity log of actions Praxa takes stays on your device.

Answering on your device

On hardware that supports Apple Intelligence, ordinary chat is answered by Apple's on-device model. In that case your message is not transmitted anywhere at all — no API key is required and it works offline.

What is sent to AI providers

When a request needs a cloud model — images, vision, Council, Mac agent tasks, or when on-device answering is unavailable or switched off — Praxa sends the messages, images and extracted document text you submit directly to the AI provider you choose (by default NVIDIA's API, or a provider you add with your own key). That content is processed under that provider's privacy policy. Praxa does not route it through, or retain it on, any server of ours.

Documents you attach

Attached PDFs and text files are read and their text extracted on your device. Only the extracted text is included in your message to the model, and only for requests that use a cloud model. The original file is never uploaded to us.

Syncing between your devices

Praxa can keep your chats in step across your own devices, in two ways, both of which exclude us:

• Over your local network. When your iPhone is paired with your Mac on the same Wi‑Fi, chats are exchanged directly between your devices, gated by a pairing code.
• Through your own iCloud. On iPhone, chats may be stored in the private database of your iCloud account, under Apple's privacy terms and against your iCloud storage. We have no access to that data and cannot read it. Turning off iCloud for Praxa in iOS Settings stops this.

Connecting to your Mac

The optional “connect to my Mac” feature communicates only over your local network, directly between your own devices, gated by a pairing code. Your Mac's files and command output are shared only with your paired device and are not sent to us.

Camera, photos and microphone

The camera is used when you choose to take a photo to ask about, and to scan the pairing QR code shown on your Mac. Photos you take or select are stored locally; a photo is only transmitted if you send it in a message that uses a cloud vision model. QR code scans are processed on device and never transmitted.

The microphone is used only while you are actively dictating. Speech is transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition; the audio is not sent to us.

Purchases

Praxa Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. We never receive your payment details.

Analytics & tracking

Praxa contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children

Praxa is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
